Dr. Kong

Ph.D. in Applied Gerontology

Dr. Kong received his PhD from the University of North Texas, U.S. with a particular emphasis on applied Gerontology. He also earned his master’s on clinical Social Work and Gerontology. He has many years working, learning, and research experiences in China, Taiwan, and the United States. Dr. Kong was a clinical social worker and director at a medical center level hospital in Taiwan. His main responsibility was community based care projects planning and executing. He was also worked at the military mental health center as a lecturer and counselor. In the United States, his experiences focus on long term care and community based services. He has worked and conducted researches on elderly day care center, NGOs with a particularly focus on psycho-social assessment and wellbeing for the elderly. After he came back to China, he participates on several marketing and consulting projects for the government and private enterprises. Dr. Kong’s research interests includes long term care, community based services for the elderly population, elderly community management, care giver and care giving issues and cross cultural studies etc.
