Elias Mpofu, PhD, DE.D, CRC, FASRC, is professor of health services research at the University of North Texas and research and development advisor for the Quality of Life Group, CA. Formerly professor of community-oriented health services research, and Head of Discipline of Clinical and Rehabilitation Sciences at the University of Sydney (2008-2017), professor of rehabilitation services at the Pennsylvania State University (2002-2008), he has extensive engagement with communities, researchers and students in research and community resourcing activities. These activities include the development of multidisciplinary research teams and national and industry collaborative projects.

His particular interest is in embedding evidence based exploratory processes in developing sustainable community health and non-profit organization capacity building for effective grassroots support interventions with at risk populations leveraging local, regional and state assets.

Elias is engaged with a number of international partners connecting researchers and community workers to opportunities for collaboration, partnership and networking in the USA, Australia, Macao (People’s Republic of China) and Africa to support the health and wellbeing of marginalised populations using participatory action approaches to research and intervention design, implementation and evaluation.
